omies of scale, superior security and reliability, and faster access to innovation are what this internet-scale infrastructure and multi-tenant Google cloud computing can offer. Google has the widest array of both paid and free cloud computing services, but I bet you are more interested to know what consists of free Google cloud computing, right? Their free cloud services are already very popular and I am sure you’ve already heard and used some, if not all, of them.
- Google Calendar. A way to organize or share your schedule
- Gmail, which all of us know and even use
- Google Docs. An online MS office for free
- Google Sites. A great feature of the free Google cloud computing program wherein one can group wikis and create project websites
- Google Apps plus Postini. E-discovery services and archiving of emails
- Google Cloud Connect
So, what are the top advantages of using either the free or paid Google cloud services? I’ve discussed my favorites below.
1. For more than 10 years now, Google did not show any signs of weariness when it comes to pushing and exploring the technological bounds of the world of cloud computing. They are always studying which of their new features are most useful in the context of business, then they enhance or improve those features and provision them to the customers of Google Apps with lesser delay as possible.
2. Its global infrastructure allows employees to be productive wherever they are, thanks to their web-based applications that give these employees access to their data and applications across devices as long as there is a web browser and an internet connection.
3. By offering applications that are browser-based, innovations applied to it comes rapidly. Every new features launched by Google in its web applications are immediately being provisioned to its users. All the users need to do is to refresh their browsers. Talking about convenience! As opposed to traditional software services that are still being used by some businesses today, their vendors tend to update their product only every 5-7 years, and implementing these upgrades doesn’t only cost much, but the process involved is also complex.
4. When working on a team project where every member is in different locations, the technology of Google cloud computing allows multiple users to simultaneously access and contribute to this said project using Google Apps wherever they are and regardless of the software, browser, or operating system each one is using at the moment. It is practically working on a same project on the same table because you can see real-time changes made by a particular member on whatever it is the team is working on.
